 SNAPPS AnyPlace ServerMap™ is an enterprise productivity tool for QuickPlace. Imagine being able to navigate to any place, any room, any folder and any document across the enterprise from a single intuitive interface. AnyPlace ServerMap makes this possible!
With this product, administrators can create any number of "navigators", each encompassing multiple grouped, categorized places in the service. A navigator is represented as a floating window that acts as a remote control for pages in the parent window. When users launch a navigator, they have immediate access to every place, room, folder and document in each of the places included in that navigator. Large enterprises may choose to create navigators for departments, for projects, or for IT management. Places can be members of multiple navigators, so they can be grouped with a department for one, and with a group of projects for another. In addition to the administrator's placement of places into navigators, the product gives end users the power of creating "My Navigator" where they choose among places to which they have membership and add to a personal "favorites" list - with full navigation capabilities down to the document level.
This new product is a huge boom to productivity for QuickPlace customers! It provides four distinct value-add capabilities:
- Gives management the ability to roll out standardized navigation to multiple places for departments, teams, or customers.
- Takes the "My Places" concept and adds context to it by grouping and categorizing places.
- Takes the Room Map or SiteMap concept and expands it beyond the limits of a single place.
- Provides end users with the ability to create their own navigator in addition to company-provided ones, bringing their most important and relevant places to the forefront.
AnyPlace ServerMap is Sametime links-enabled, is compatible with WebSphere Portal, and works in both IE and Firefox. It is implemented as a Domino database on a Team Workplace server that holds a place catalog.
